  • Install Microsoft Office
As a Cornell student you have the ability to install Microsoft Office on up to five laptop or desktop computers.  Please note you must uninstall all versions of Office prior to installing Office 365 ProPlus.  Click here to download and install on your PC or Mac.

  • Install Net-Print Software and Printers
With Net-Print, you can use any networked computer to send files over the campus network to laser printers located in Sage Hall and other buildings on the Cornell campus. You can use these printers from a computer lab or from your own computer on or off campus. You need to install Net-Print to use it from a personal, non-lab computer.
  • Configure email client
    • Johnson recommends using Microsoft Outlook 2016 with Windows 10, or Microsoft Outlook 2016 with the latest Mac OS. Microsoft Office is currently available for free to all registered Cornell students and can be downloaded here. The software will remain active as long as you are a registered student. Once you graduate, you will have the opportunity to keep using the software by paying a fee directly to Microsoft.
    • Even if you are currently using Microsoft Outlook to get other email, you can configure Outlook to access Cornell Exchange additionally. Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office Suite “Home and Business” or “Professional”, which must be installed prior to this configuration. Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail will not give you the same functionality as Outlook.
    • You can access your Cornell Exchange account in the following Johnson-recommended ways. Proceed to the online instructions for your preferred method.
    • On the web with Outlook Web Access –
    • Outlook 2016 for Windows – Click here
    • Outlook 2016 for Mac – Click here
we have recently learned that a number of third party email providers (Yahoo, Google, AOL, etc.) have put measures into place in an attempt to prevent Spam and bogus Phishing attempts for their users. The measures include limitations on forwarding email to these accounts which result in legitimate emails being delivered directly to a Spam folder or being returned to sender as “undeliverable.” We strongly discourage you from forwarding your Cornell  email to these types of accounts as it will have a significant impact on your ability to receive essential program information.
